Mitchell Moondé (b. 1990, Brooklyn, New York) is a designer and maker working primarily in cowhide and leather. He creates sculptural floor objects that explore the relationship between material, geometry, and space through the lens of contemporary design.

Raised between Brooklyn, New York and Limón, Costa Rica by Afro-Costa Rican parents, Moondé's work is informed by histories of cultural exchange. These influences continue to shape his approach to making.

Working with leather for more than eight years, Moondé develops each work through an iterative process of cutting, shaping, and refinement. Collaborating closely with specialized tanneries, he combines the precision of fashion construction with the traditions of leathercraft to create floor objects defined by silhouette, reduction, and assembly. Each object preserves the individuality of the material while becoming part of a carefully composed whole.
